The Santiago Bernabéu stadium is being remodelled with the aim of becoming one of the most technologically advanced sports venues in the world. It is an “integral development” that will include security solutions, a data centre and digital signalisation. It will also have the largest wireless connectivity network in Europe, which will be based on Wi-Fi 6 technology with more than 1,200 access points.
ESB has been awarded the supply of the passive component to equip one of the most important stadiums in the world with 4G and 5G technology. The selected equipments are part of ESB’s In-building solutions (IBS) division and include a wide range of passive equipment suitable for 3G, 4G and 5G networks such as 2×2 hybrid combiners (78211527), 4×4 hybrid combiners (78211536), splitters (78762023 / 78762033 / 78762043) and directional couplers (787621xx), among others. Once the implementation is completed, the Santiago Bernabéu will be able to offer its attendants a cutting edge connectivity service, making it one of the pioneer stadiums able to offer its attendants the maximum capacity and data speed available. With this new achievement, ESB consolidates its position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of indoor connectivity solutions, consolidating one of its main objectives for which it has made a great commitment in the last few years.
